Harpers.org

I absolutely love the new Harpers web site. They have redesigned and are making a lot more archival content available than before, including a searchable Harpers Index. Fantastic job by the web editor, Paul Ford.

If you are not familiar with Harpers, it is one of the oldest magazines in America and it a wonderful read. The print edition is simply a pleasure to behold.

Thanks for the heads-up. I love Harper's and even use the index in my classes, but haven't been to the website in a long time, since it used to be limited to just subscribers of the magazine. Glad to know it's making more available.

Yeah, that was why I sort of abandoned the Harpers site quite a while ago. Glad to see that they are opening things up. Unfortunately, perhaps, I just read that Paul Ford will be leaving, but I hope they stay with his nice style at least for a little while. In a WWW full of so many busy, cluttered and confusing "news" and commentary sites the current Harpers.org is a real oasis.
